CUPERTINO, California—January 24, 2024—Apple unveiled Wheels, a completely modern and futuristic iteration of the modern automobile. Utilizing revolutionary new technology and cutting-edge technological breakthroughs, Apple has integrated both software and hardware to create a seamless connection between the two. Apple becomes the first to bring its industry-leading ecosystem to an entire vehicle. With ’Siri, take the wheel,’ the self-driving experience is simple and safer than ever.

“Apple launched new technological eras with the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and the Vision Pro” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “Apple is once again on the precipice of a new era of automotive travel with Wheels.”
The addition of the Apple-engineered Qi chip in Wheels will enable each vehicle to engage in smart charging patterns so that drivers will receive the most range and efficiency out of their charges. This chip also enables the breakthrough integration of iOS, iPad OS, Mac OS, and Watch OS softwares directly into the vehicle. Using other Apple devices such as Watch, iPad, and iPhone, users can remote-start their Wheels, input a destination in advance, and select a playlist which will immediately sync to their Wheels before they get into their vehicle.

Wheels also knows the proximity of drivers’ trusted devices to its steering wheel, allowing it to automatically lock and unlock with ease. Since it is integrated into the Apple ecosystem, users are also able to unlock or lock Wheels remotely, in case a family member or friend needs to access the vehicle. Advanced theft detection will send a notification to drivers upon an attempted intrusion and provides 24/7 live video surveillance. If a suspected theft occurs users will receive the option to share a live surveillance feed with local authorities along with the live GPS positioning of the vehicle.

“With Wheels, we pushed the boundaries of what was possible in a motorized vehicle” said Dan Kamys, Wheels’ Lead Engineer. “by redesigning the body and frame from the molecular level and implementing a propriety metal alloy, we were able to create a safer base that took up less space. This allowed us to increase the size of the battery considerable from what is currently offered on the market, and create a vehicle-wide network for Wheels OS to run in.”
Wheels will be available in 3 colors. A gorgeous sky silver, a bountiful salvia blue, and a crisp midnight black. Additional customizability is available at the point of purchase.
